LG's world slimmest full-HD LCD smartphones is only 2.2mm

The LG Display which recently launched its full-HD LCD panel for smartphones in Seoul is the thinnest smartphone measuring only 2.2 mm thick. This would be among the thinnest smartphones avaialble having 2.3mm bezel.

The full HD 1920 x 1080 pixel which will accompany the smartphone will give it a bigger visible display and at the same time improving the conent's visibility in strong sunlight.

It is rumoured that the South Korean company will be using the same panel in its yet to be released LG Optimus G2 smartphones.

LG has claimed that it has been using "Advanced One Glass Solution" in its new recent manufacturing process. This will enable them to use dual printed circuits and a better binding between the display panel and touch film, thus making it more efficient in visual display.

While launching the new feature, Vice President and Head of LG Display's IT and Mobile Development Group Dr. Byeong-Koo Kim had said, "Today's introduction of the world's slimmest Full HD LCD panel represents an exciting advancement for the high-end smartphone segment, and is possible due to our world-class expertise in IPS and touch technologies." The statement is however not far from truth but it remains to be seen how effectively it's translated into the existing visual system.

The new technology is yet to be integrated into phones, tablets and notebooks. The prospects and potential of the new visible display system however cannot be undermined as they would be the new denominator for new user mobile experience.
