App to make bus travel hassle-free

Waiting for a bus might finally be less stressful. The Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS), which manages cluster buses, has launched a phone-based application for information on bus schedule, timing, etc.



A DIMTS spokeswoman said, "The Delhi Transit Bus Info app will provide information on the expected arrival time of buses. It will also provide details on routes, bus stops, etc." The app will also advise commuters on which bus to take for reaching their destination. The move comes when the Delhi government is struggling to implement its passenger information system, where bus stops would have boards displaying information.


DIMTS said the app is available on the internet and on Android-based devices. Only information on cluster buses would be available right now. Said the spokeswoman, "The app is available for only orange-coloured Delhi Transit buses, except for the Trip Planner feature which gives data on DTC bus routes too."
