Celkon CT 888 price in India tagged at Rs. 7,999, available online

Celkon has released the CT 888 in India through Snapdeal and declared the 3G calling tablet’s price as well. Made available at Rs. 7,999, the slate has arrived only at the aforesaid e-retailer’s doorstep as of now.

There isn’t much to unearth with respect to the device’s components, seeing as they barely stray away from those of the numerous 7-inch tablets currently present in the country. The capacitive multi-touch display slapped across its front panel rolls out pictures and videos at a resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels.

One of its major setbacks is that it comes with a fast-becoming redundant Ice Cream Sandwich OS and there is no guarantee whether its future holds a plausible upgrade. The Celkon CT 888 has arrived in time to battle for attention against the FonePad, another 7-inch tablet displaying its voice calling ability.

Although the slate in question rocks ICS and not Jelly Bean like Asus’ latest introduction in the region, it holds an upper hand when it comes to the onboard processor. Unlike the FonePad’s single core chipset, it has been fitted with a dual core CPU that scales up to 1.2GHz.

Two cameras have been plunked onto the CT 888; a 2MP snapper takes its place on the rear and a VGA webcam snuggles next to the screen. Up to 4GB of memory has been provided to hoard content internally, even as a microSD card slot can be seen clinging to the chassis supporting expansions of up to 32GB.

As far as connectivity features are concerned, there exists Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, while a 3D motion sensor is also present. A 3,500mAh battery keeps the gadget up and about between charges. However, the probable talk time and standby are still a mystery.

Snapdeal has also put the Celkon CT 888 up on sale on installment basis for those who don’t wish to shell out the entire amount all at once. Customers can claim the slate with no upfront cost followed by per month payments of Rs. 1,333 for 6 months or Rs. 2,666 for 3 months.
