Lava Xolo to run on Intel Medfield to compete with Micromax Canvas HD

It is being talked as the fastest smart-phone launched so far, though I really doubt the claim. Lava Xolo to run on Intel Medfield to compete with Micromax Canvas HD is getting great media coverage simply due to this claim.

The Indian mobile maker Lava is planning to launch its next flagship on the same day when the smartphone giant Samsung is expected to unveil its next device Samsung Galaxy S4 on March 14.

The mobile maker Lava is launching its next Intel-powered Xolo smartphone that will be competing against Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos, HTC Desire X, Motorola Atrix 2, HTC One S and Sony Xperia P.

Lava claims that this new device that has been developed under the name Mission X is the fastest smartphone with Intel chip inside it.

Some analysts and media websites have contemplated that the forthcoming Lava Xolo smartphone will have the newly launched chip Intel CloverTrail+ inside it but it is not so. The device runs on an Intel MedfieldZ2460 processor with a speed of 2GHz that is also powering the Motorola Razr i.

The Razr i is only available in UK as of now and has received positive reviews from users when compared to its rivals. The Intel MedfieldZ2460 chip features hyperthreading, which facilitates the 2GHz single-core processor to work as a dual-core CPU.

The Medfield Z2460 chipset comes with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and up to 2GB RAM, while maximum storage can be up to 64GB. An 8MP rear camera that shoots 1080p videos and a 1.3MP secondary camera can be used for video calling with this smartphone.

Lenovo’s K900 is expected to be the first smartphone to run on the newly launched chip Intel CloverTrail+ which is scheduled to launch in India in the second half of this year.

Lava is trying to gain some publicity by unveiling its smartphone on the same day when Samsung is speculated to launch its next flagship, Samsung Galaxy S4, on March 14 at an event in Goa, India.

The smartphone world is going to witness a series of new devices in the coming year, so every company is trying to lure the buyers with their exclusive features. Lava is claiming that its next device, Lava Xolo, is the fastest smartphone ever to run on Intel chip.
