Adobe launches cloud-based model in India

Adobe Systems, on Tuesday, launched Creative Cloud, a subscription-based model, for accessing its software and products in India, and expects the move to help expand revenues. It is also hoping that it will check the piracy rate of its products. “We are moving away from ‘selling software in a box’ model ,” Adobe Managing Director (South Asia) Umang Bedi said.

Users will get access to products such as Photoshop Lightroom.

“The Creative Cloud for SMBS is available at a promotional price of Rs. 34,620 per user annually. In contrast, the suite of creative desktop applications alone costs Rs. 1,76,000 a year ,” he said. Once the promotional offer ends on April 30 , the product will be priced at Rs. 48,480.
