Earlier this month, we saw the Asus MeMO Pad ME301T up for sale in Europe for 349 Euros. Now the Taiwanese manufacturer has officially unveiled the 10.1-inch tablet for $299. The tablet is expected to reach the markets soon, though the availability details are a bit sketchy as of now.

The Asus MeMO Pad Smart will be a part of the company's recently launched MeMO Pad lineup, currently joining the 7-inch MeMO Pad ME172V priced at $149.

The MeMO Pad Smart ME301T sports a 10.1-inch WXGA IPS display and runs on Android 4.1. It comes with a 5-megapixel rear and a 1.2-megapixel front camera as well.

Internally, the tablet is powered by a 1.2GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor with 1GB RAM. There's 16GB of internal storage with microSD expansion support. Users will have access to 5GB of lifetime cloud storage with Asus WebStorage.

The tablet comes pre-installed with various apps seen on its 7-inch counterpart like SuperNote Lite, Asus WebStorage Office, Asus Studio, App Locker and App Backup. Connectivity options on the tablet include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, Micro-USB 2.0 and micro HDMI.

Asus has introduced a new Folio Key in the Memo Pad Smart, which is an optional wrap-around protective cover for the tablet that incorporates a Bluetooth keyboard for enhanced productivity.

It is made from lightweight microfiber materials with instant magnetic attachment and also features a tabletop stand that holds the display at a comfortable angle for watching movies and typing. The keyboard is powered from its own internal battery and can be used for up to one month on a single charge. There is no word on pricing of the Folio key from Asus.

The MeMO Pad Smart ME301T was spotted on Droidsans, that saw the tablet in action at the Thailand Mobile Expo priced at 10,900 Thai Baht prior to its launch.
