Audi R8 India launch with Race 2 cast: Saif orders one himself

 

In presence of Race 2 star cast, which included Deepika Padukone, Ameesha Patel and Saif Ali Khan, Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India launched the new R8 sports car for India.

With the new R8 launch, Audi India has started the year 2013 on a bright note. Bollywood actors, Saif, Deepika and Ameesha graced the launch of new Audi R8. The trio was there promoting their new movie, Race 2, which is scheduled for a release on 25th Jan 2013. All three were quite impressed with the new Audi sportscar. Saif Ali Khan joined the Audi club of Bollywood actors, when he ordered top of the line, R8 V10 Spyder at the launch event itself.

A total of five Audi cars were used in the filming of Race 2; Audi A8L, A4, Q7, TT Coupe, and R8 Spyder. All stars in Race 2, own an Audi in the movie. Speaking about the presence of Bollywood actors during the R8 India launch, Michael said, “Winners identify with winning brands as does Audi’s association with Race 2. The high-performance sports car Audi R8 has placed Audi at the head of the pack in this flagship segment. The all new Audi R8 is a stylistic embodiment of pure dynamism. The interior evokes a luxury-grade racing atmosphere which is not only apt for the film but also embodies the real essence of the film and its title. We are happy to be a part of the super hit Race film franchise. In the film Race 2, Audi cars will be seen across exotic locations. Majority of the star cast are already Audi enthusiasts. John Abraham and Deepika Padukone are already enrolled in the Audi Q Life.”

Speaking at the event in Delhi, Michael Perschke, said, “Our outstanding performance in 2012 established Audi as the fastest growing luxury car brand in India and this successful run will continue this year too. 2013 is a critical year for Audi in India and we will see the announcement of several initiatives on the product and network front. First month of 2013 already saw the launch of new Audi Q5 and I am confident that with the launch of this new Audi R8 we will further consolidate our leadership position in the super sports car segment in India.”
