LG launches the Optimus L9 in India

LG officially unveiled its new Optimus L9 which is its new mid-ranged smartphone. The company has now launched this Android based device in the Indian market and it is priced at Rs. 22,000.

The LG Optimus L9 runs Android 4.0 ICS and it sports a 4.7-inch IPS display with a qHD resolution. It is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and a large 2,500 mAh battery. Other specifications includes a 5 megapixel front facing camera, VGA quality front facing camera, 4GB of built-in storage, 1GB of RAM and expandable memory via microSD card.

Skinned over Android 4.0 ICS is LG’s Optimus UI 3.0 and the device also comes pre-loaded with the new QTranslator app which users the optical character recognition technology. It can scan entire sentences and phrases in 44 foreign languages to 64 user languages.

At Rs. 22,000 this LG smartphone is a tough competitor to various mid-ranged smartphone available in the Indian market. We have a bunch of Sony smartphones going up against the Optimus L9, HTC has its Desire VC and Desire X while Samsung has the Galaxy S Advance and Galaxy S 2.
