Nokia Asha 501 starts worldwide rollout

The Nokia Asha 501, which is the first of a new generation of affordable smartphones to run on the fast, fluid and all-new Asha platform,  goes on sale this week in Thailand and Pakistan, with India sales soon to follow.

Ever since we first laid our eyes on the gorgeous Nokia Asha 501 at the launch event in New Delhi last month, we have been incredibly excited about this device.

It has a colourful, durable and seamless industrial design, combined with a new swipe interface called Fastlane, which means that you are never far away from accessing all the important things that you love, such as your social networks, games, music and favourite apps.

In short, the Nokia Asha 501 is a tremendous value smartphone that is the perfect marriage between style and substance.

Next week, the rollout will continue in India and progress onto countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia Pacific. In late summer, the Nokia Asha 501 will start selling in Latin American countries like Brazil.

The phone is available in six striking colours: cyan, bright red, yellow, bright green, black and white. It retails for approximately $99 before local taxes and subsidies.
