sounds really shocking! But, yet the popular iPhone, iPod and iPad
manufacturer from Taiwan is the new partner of Google for the Google
Glasses project.
Foxconn, the company which was in news last year because of partnership with Apple for iPhone 5 and later for issues related with under-age labourer, is again in news. This time, the credit goes to new partnership with Google for the manufacturing of Google Glasses.
“It turns out that the partner which Google chose for this project is Foxconn aka, Foxconn International Holdings Limited” reports Financial Times.
But, the production will not take place outside United States. Foxconn has a number of plants in different countries including China, Taiwan and United States. Google will use the Foxconn California unit for the production of the next-gen wearable technology, the Google Glasses. This unit is not too far from Google’s headquarter. This will allow “Google’s engineers to be closely involved with the production process and provide more opportunities for last-minute fixes and for personal customization”
Apart from Apple products Foxconn has been associated with the manufacturing of Amazon Kindle, Sony Playstation 3 and Nintendo's Wii U.
