Lava launches IRIS 454 and IRIS 502 Android smartphones




The Indian smartphone maker Lava has launched two new smartphones under its IRIS range. First up is the Lava IRIS 454, which comes with a 4.5-inch qHD IPS display and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It is a dual-SIM (GSM + GSM) smartphone.

Lava IRIS 454 comes with 1GHz dual-core processor with 512MB RAM. The internal storage available on the device is 2GB and can be further expanded through a microSD card. For camera, there is an 8-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi. Lava IRIS 454 comes with a 1,650mAh battery.

The other smartphone that has been launched is Lava IRIS 502. The smartphone features 5.0-inch capacitive touchscreen with a display of 480x800 pixels. It runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). This smartphones is powered by a 1 GHz processor with 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 32GB via microSD. It comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera.

Lava IRIS 502 comes with 2,300 mAh battery that as per Lava's claims can give up to 9 hours talk time and up to 400 hours standby. It is also a dual-SIM smartphone. Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS.

Both Lava IRIS 454 and Lava IRIS 502 are available in the market for Rs. 8,499.

Lava IRIS 502 is quite similar in terms of specification to the recently launched IRIS 501. The only major difference being IRIS 502 runs on Android 4.1 and it has single core processor, while IRIS 501 packs in a dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) .
