Videocon to launch FDD-LTE service in second half of 2013



Videocon plans to launch LTE services in 2nd Half of 2013.

Recently, the company has bagged liberalised spectrum in telecom circles of Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, UP (East), UP (West), and Bihar.

The company has re-won the spectrum for 6 circles wherein it already has its ongoing operations and is planning to ensure that the customers keep on enjoying the best services and great value for money product offerings seamlessly.

The spectrum won by Videocon in the recent auction is paired and liberalised and can be used to roll out next generation networks and Services by adapting a highly spectrally efficient 4G technology FDD-LTE. This enables operators to gain more efficiency using the same spectrum resources.

Next-generation network technologies enable about 30 times more data capacity than a traditional 2G network, allowing telcos to extend the lifespan of existing spectrum assets and reduce the amount of additional spectrum required.
