After AT&T Samsung Galaxy Camera to be available on Verizon

For Android fans in USA, this is a great news. Finally after a rather long wait, Samsung’s Galaxy Camera will be available on Verizon too. After AT&T Verizon will be the only second carrier that will have Samsung’s Android camera on its network. In Canada also, the Samsung camera has been launched.

From its control panel no other camera looks like it. It looks more like a Samsung Galaxy S3, the hottest Samsung phone that the Korean tech giant has sold around 40 million units in the last six months since its launch. To be true, till Samsung launched its camera in the market no one thought that an Android camera was in the planning.

Though so far no formal announcement about the launch of Samsung Galaxy Camera on Verizon has been announced, but a report in Engadget indicated that the Korean technology company Verizon 4G LTE Connected Camera. Though the page is no longer available but many leading tech websites including PCMag and Engadget, besides many other websites noted the info.

A report in PCMag quoted a Verizon spokeswoman as saying that she did not have anything to share on this info and Samsung that deleted the info from its website refused to share anything on the launch of Galaxy Camera in the US. But Samsung Galaxy Camera is available in the USA on AT&T for $499.99. Recent Samsung Galaxy smartphones – like the Galaxy S III and Note II – have landed on multiple U.S. carriers, so the Galaxy Camera’s expansion to Verizon is not that surprising.

Korean company’s camera camera features a 17MP BSI CMOS sensor with a superb 21x optical and digital zooming capability. It offers a focal length of 4.1mm to 86.1mm and it shows off an f2.8 aperture. Using the camera, you can capture stills at ISO 100 to 3200. You can record movies in 1080p@30fps at the same time. Resembling a high-end Android smartphone, the Galaxy Camera is equipped with a 1.4GHz quad core processor and 1GB RAM. The camera runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and it supports all great Google Play apps. Yes, you can run Dropbox for live cloud storage, a Photo Wizard for editing images, social media sites like Facebook and others for sharing images right away. The camera sports a 4.8-inch HD Super Clear LCD screen for both viewing images and using apps and features. The screen does have an identical interface of an Android handset. For powering up, the camera packs a strong 1,650mAh battery that can offer up to 280 hours of 3G standby.
